- The present work aimed to evaluate the chirurgical technique of caudal curvature flexure sigmoid fixation and myectomy of the retrator muscle of penis in cattle. Ten bulls with no specific breed were used, with medium age of 20 months, and average weight of 200 kg. The animals were submitted to an alimentary and hydric fast of 12 hours, previous tranquilization with intramuscular xilazine cloridato (0,05 mg/kg) and local subcutaneous infiltrative anesthesia, using lidocayne cloridato at 2% with vasoconstrictor (9mg/ kg). These animals were tested about the libido after the accomplishment of the surgical procedure. The skin was incised in the medium line perineal flow, to locate the flexure sigmoid of the penis, myectomy of retractor muscle and fixation of the curvature flow from the sigmoid flexure of the penis. The results show that the gland has kept distant of the ostio prepucial inhibiting the exhibition of the penises, the myectomy of the retractor muscle decreased the tension applied during the erection and its scarification enabled a better adherence of the extremities. The myectomy of the retractor muscle of the penis hindered their action during the act of the erection, diminishing the discomfort of the animal in the act of the sum, this way, increasing the useful life of these animals in the field. When the animals were tested as ruffians they maintained the libido during the experimental period with total inability penis exhibition. We can conclude that this technique can be used with safety at field level, for presenting simplicity in this execution, effectiveness in the results and mainly low cost, not interfering in the libido of the animals.
