Abstract

Melanomas are neoplasias derived from melanocytes, melanin producing cells. They are relatively common in dogs with pigmented skin and advanced age. This work reports a case of a 12 years old male dog, that shows a tumor with 8,0 x 7,0 cm, firm consistency, and located in the prepuce. After necropsy, neoplastic nodular foci of varied diameters were observed in lungs, liver, spleen, heart and mesenteric lymph nodes. Histopathological evaluation has been compatible with metastatic malignant melanoma diagnosis, neoplasia of rare occurrence in prepuce from dogs. Keywords: Neoplasia of the prepuce, dog, metastasis
