Abstract

Anthelmintic resistance of gastrointestinal nematodes of goats, from the zone of the forest of the Alagoas State, was evaluated. The flocks were split into four groups, one control group and three tested with different drugs: moxidectin, ivermectin and albendazole. The evaluation of the efficiency of each drug was made by reduction test in the count of eggs of feces (RCOF) and differentiation of infective larvae by the fecal culture. Samples of feces were collected before treatment and at days 0 and 7, 14 and 21 post-treatment. The efficiency of albendazole, ivermectin and moxidectin at the days 7, 14 and 21, was 97.89%, 71.2%, 80% for albendazole; 98.74%, 88.3%, 87% for ivermectin; and 83.6%, 96% 96.3% for moxidectin, at the respectivelly days of evaluation. The prevalent infective larvae in fecal cultures were of the gender Haemonchus (95%), revealing resistance to the tested drugs. Keywords: Goats, resistance, anti-helmintic, nematodes.
