Abstract

Biological essay were done with eggs, pre-pupae and adults with different concentration of ethanolic extracts from branches of Croton linearifolius against Cochliomya macellaria. The ethanolic extract was not active against eggs and pre-pupae. On the other hand, the 60 mg/mL of extract concentration was extremely active against the adults of Cochliomyia macellaria, when compared with the control group. The phytochemistry prospection with the 1H and 13C NMR spectral analysis of the fractions obtained by solvent partition allowed to identify the presence of alkaloids, steroids, flavonoids, tannins, redutors sugars besides quaternary basis in this extract. The obtained results shows a potential insecticide of the ethanolic extract from the branches of Croton linearifolius. Keywords: Natural insecticide, agroecology, caatinga, medicinal plants.
