Utilização de Algoritmos Genéticos na Montagem de Tabelas de Campeonatos de Futebol

Abstract

This paper explores the use of genetic algorithms for scheduling the Brazilian Football Championship, aiming to minimize the distances traveled by teams and reduce operational costs. The experiments showed that the proposed approach resulted in an average reduction of 25.75% in total distance traveled compared to the official CBF schedule in 2024. These results demonstrate the feasibility of this technique for logistical optimization in sports tournaments.
