Performance of 4G and 5G Networks Using Computational Signal Propagation Models
Abstract
Abstract—This paper compares the performance of 4G and 5G networks using computational signal propagation models. Seven models are analyzed that focus on metrics such as path loss, ERB height, user height, and distance in different urban, suburban, and rural scenarios. This work used SCILAB to perform the simulation, considering frequency, distance, height, and environment. It is concluded that the COST231 model is more effective in urban and rural environments, while the Okamu-Hata model stands out in suburban areas.
